🦁 The Lion Who Is Not a Lion (Spoken Word)

Summary

The Lion Who Is Not a Lion, Recognizing Danger Without Waiting for Proof, When Subtle Signs Speak Loudly, Choosing Safety Over Hesitation, a Lion that is not a Lion, bronze warrior, a roaring Lion

The Lion Who Is Not a Lion

I hear the ruffle before the roar.

The brush moves.

The air shifts. Instinct says run.

But my body— does not move.

The Lion comes.

Not beast.

Not claw.

But tall, braided, bronze.

Skin like fire dressed in chocolate.

Eyes that burn. A roar that shakes the ground.

Fight?

Useless.

Flight?

Gone.

I am caught—

between fear and wanting,

between escape and surrender.

The Lion who is not a Lion steps closer.

The earth bows.

The trees lean.

The air bends.

I surrender.

Not prey.

Offering.

Not ending.

Becoming.

To be devoured is to be remade.

To be consumed is to be reborn.

So, it ends.

And it begins.

With the roar—

the roar of a Lion

who is not a Lion,

but something far more dangerous,

and far more human.
