The Flaw

The Flaw. A mattress bulge becomes a mountain of imperfection—exploring flaws, quality, and the human longing for immaculate, level surfaces.

The flaw in my mattress has turned my feelings of the universe inside out. Knowing that nothing is unblemished, I nevertheless strive for the immaculate in the cleanliness and neatness of things that I have.

Consisting of a bulging line 26 inches (66.04 centimeters) long and one inch (2.54 centimeters) wide in the middle of my mattress is both annoying and unsightly to me.

The height of this disturbing bulge in the middle of my mattress is about .5 inches (1.27 centimeters) or less. Yet this mattress bulge appears as daunting as the northern division of the Appalachian Mountains going so far at its highest point being equivalent in height to Mount Mitchell’s summit (elevation 6,684 feet, 203728.32 centimeters), which is in Black Mountain range of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Western North Carolina.

A level plain is all that I ask of what a flat surface should be constructed by a manufacturer. It should be a matter of quality assurance that ridges, valleys, bulges, and depressions are not allowed as the finished product of a flat surface item.

Now the question is, should I allow something so trivial to disturb me? The answer is no, but it does nonetheless because I am not talking about an unnoticed hand in the cookie jar but of sight seen in the fabric of my mattress.

Since prayers do not work, praying away this unsightly bulge in my mattress is not an option despite someone being attributed as saying that a mountain can be raised and tossed into the sea by prayer. So, what do I do about this mattress anomaly that distorts its surface?

On a visit to a medical clinic to find an answer to a minor problem that is annoying me I was told to just live with it. So, I will apply that advice to the bulge in my mattress and just live with it as discomforting in seeing it as it is. Joy to the Universe and the world of springs, foam, or other materials that compose a mattresses support core.
